The Stethoscope

The stethoscope is easily one of the most recognizable tools used by doctors. It is used to listen to the body’s internal sounds to measure things like blood pressure and lung capacity. The current form of the stethoscope has been around for over 150 years.

Uses of the X-ray

X-rays are often used to detect skeletal problems like fractures or congenital anomalies. They’ve been around for over a century, but even with recent developments in imaging technology, they remain a useful diagnostic tool for doctors. Specialized x-ray processes include angiography and fluoroscopy, which can be used to produce moving images.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging

MRI is a relatively new type of imaging that has the potential to produce reliable images of the inside of the human body. It uses radio signals and magnetic fields to produce these images. MRI technology may be a safe alternative to techniques like CT scans that use ionizing radiation.

The Future of Medical Equipment

Doctors and scientists are still hard at work developing more tools and equipment to diagnose and treat medical conditions. It will be interesting to see what sort of tools medical professionals will be using in the future. Someday, x-rays and MRIs may even be considered primitive.
